Frequently asked questions

How do i care for succulents?

Succulents are hearty little plants that can take a lot of abuse and still thrive.  The two rules to remember about watering succulents:

  1. Only water them when the soil is completely dry.  Depending on your climate, this is once per week, or once every couple of weeks.
  2. Never mist succulents.  They need their moisture from their soil and nowhere else.

The two rules to remember about succulents and sunlight:

  1. Succulents can handle a wide range of sunlight, from merely ambient lighting to fully sunlit for hours each day.  Just keep in mind the more sunlight you give them, the more often they'll need to be watered, and generally the more closely they'll need to be monitored.
  2. Gradually introduce succulents to changes in sunlight.  Abruptly placing them in a sunny window immediately after unpacking them will shock them.

How big are your flowerpots?

Our small flowerpots are about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 2 1/2 inches tall.

Our medium flowerpots are 3 inches in diameter and 2 3/4 inches tall.

Can I get a specific species of succulent?

We're sorry, but availability of succulents changes so often, that we just can't keep all species in stock.

HOW DISCRETE IS YOUR PACKAGING?

We ship in simple brown cardboard boxes.  "Aflorable" appears nowhere on the box or shipping label.  Our return address includes only the letters "AI" as a business identifier.

DO YOU PROVIDE TRACKING INFO WITH YOUR SHIPMENTS?

Yes, tracking numbers are sent in shipping confirmation emails, which are sent in the afternoon / evening that your package ships.  Didn't get your shipping confirmation email?  Please check your spam folder, our shipping confirmation emails often end up there.

How quickly do you ship?

We ship almost all orders placed before noon in the Mountain Time Zone the same day they're placed.  Larger orders (quantity 10 or more) can take an additional day to ship out.  FedEx 2Day and faster methods move to the front of the line, and are filled before US Postal Service orders.  We do not ship on Saturday, Sunday, and most holidays.

Can succulents survive the shipping process?

Yes, absolutely!  Only when the packages are seriously abused will the plant suffer.  In colder months, we pack a little 72-hour heater in each box to ensure your little plant stays cozy on its way to its new home.
